First Day

Today was my first day at my new training school, German Sheperd Dogs.

I know i'm not a german shep before you say, but they like other breeds too and are used to handling big dogs like me. ( Well like i should be )

At first i was a bit nervous and got told off by the owner when i barked at another dog. He suggested using a check chain, and for mummy to tell me off really firmly. However mummy didnt quite listen, and continued to use treats to get me to do stuff, which i much prefer.

There were 4 dogs in my group, another rottie like me, a staffie, and a lab who was very grumpy and kepy trying to bit us all. Once we got going i was a little angel, i like learning new tricks you see.

Mummy says were going to do something called The Good Citizen Bronze Award, which sounds like fun, and we get to do an exam at the end to prove how good a dog I am. Yay!

I am looking forward to next weeks class, as Difa is going to come too.

Miss Humpalot

After a hard few days I decided to go for a leisurely walk this afternoon with a few of my friends.

Needless to say i didnt expect this ;

Feeling Hot

Its been a tiring two days.

I am now "prime" which means at my most fertile and have therefore spent the last two days trying to entice Difa to help me out. It does seem to be working, but boy he gets shattered quickly.

I need lots of rest now until i'm finally back to my normal self. One relaxing weekend infront of the tv with a nice bone, and maybe a cold glass of dog beer.

New Friends

Yesterday I made another new friend. Like my she is a dog with a job. Her name is Orla, and she is a trainee guide dog.

Not unlike my job, her career is one that is based on assisting others, but where as I help my mum to walk, Orla will help someone with sight problems to get around alot easier, and be able to live a more active lifestyle, and have more independence.

Orlas future as a guide dog is not set in stone, unlike me who got the job due to my mum, Orla has to have intensive training, and any small problem with her can lead to her being fired immediately, and going back to the life of a "pet".

I really liked Orla, she is the same size as me, and very gentle, so we can play together nicely. The only problem is she is very pretty, and i'm not sure I like the idea of having to share the limelight with someone, what if she gets more attention than me?? I'll have to show her whose boss if that happens I think, i'm older than she is. Respect your elders eh, Difa taught me that.

So anyway, I have a playdate with Orla tomorrow while my mummy works. I'm still on heat so can't go near the boy dogs at the moment, for some reason mum doesnt want me to get any action. Just because she isnt, it seems a bit unfair that I can't too, but what can you do eh!

Roxy

New Job

Me and my brother Difa are lucky enough to have found a new job. Our mum has opened an online dog treat store, and keeps baking delicious treats which we get to try out for free. Yummy!!

So far my favourite are the liver treats, even though mum always pulls a face when she gives it me.

Have a look for yourself at the new ones she made today;

Friday Feeling

Woooo hooooo, its friday! Unfortunately rather than make the most of my last day of walking before the weekend mum decided to leave me at home all day, mean witch.

She did however send me some photos of my friends all wet after their walks in the rain, at least i got to stay nice and warm.

To poo or not to poo....

Now to you humans out their reading you're probably familiar and grossed out by a canine habit of eating other dogs poops.

I know it smells foul, its disgusting etc...but as dogs we are told to enjoy it, and seize the opportunity.

I quote the Dastardly book for dogs, our holy bible;

"Do not let your owner stop you eating poop, just wait til their back is turned and gobble up that poop, sneakily eaten poop tastes all the sweeter"

Now my mum doesnt quite understand this concept, today when my friend Phoebe decided to indulge in a little lunch at the park, my mum reported her to her owners. How rude.
Its not something I personally like to do, but who am I to judge my friends?

Humans have a phrase, "poo happens" so maybe let it happen to you sometime!

No heat....

Last night i was feeling a bit tired and lethargic, i thought maybe i was just run down from a hard days walking, but when i woke up this morning i had covered my mums bed in some red stuff. ( I hope she doesnt notice or i may be in trouble )

Turns out i'm "in season" which means my body is ready to be impregnated. Now i know i'm only young, 16 months to be exact, but i'm not yet ready to have kids. I've not decided whether i want to one day, or whether i'd rather focus on my career as a dog walkers assistant. I really enjoy my job, and maybe one day me and mum could run a pet shop or something and i could help her chew the bones and test out all the toys, i'd really love that.

So anyways mum has decided to give me a few more years to decide all this, which means i have to suffer twice a year! It's not fair really, not only has mum left me home alone with Difa, who wont stop trying to get me to agree to sex, but i know she's out having fun with all my friends while i'm cooped up inside with nothing to do but chew floorboards and shred newspaper.

It also sucks because my walks will be reduced, I remember last time mum wouldnt let me off the lead for three weeks ans seemed very worried everytime a boy approached me. What does she think i'm just gonna let some strange boy come and try his luck, please, i do have some class, unlike my mother who seems to have a new man round every couple of months to "watch a movie" on my settee.

Apparantely mum has made some appointment at the vets to talk about me getting an injection that stops these nasty periods, and means I never have to miss my daily walks. But I cant go see the vet for another month, so i'm stuck indoors twiddling my paws. How frustrating.

Right, time to go have a rummage around the house and see what i can find to chew.
I'll woof soon,

A Bark about Me

Welcome to My Doggy Diaires. First, let me introduce myself. I am Roxy, a rottweiler dog who loves to cause trouble for my mum. I dont quite remember my first few months of life, but i know me and my siblings were abandoned and our mum tried her best to protect us all. Unfortunately only me and older brother Rooney survived.
We got found and taken to a local shelter, who separated us, and locked us in tiny kennels all alone. Not long after a couple started visiting me everyday and taking me out on the fields to play. I was quite shy at first, but they seemed friendly and i grew to love them. I later found out they had been playing with Rooney too, but he got ill and died at only two months old. I dont remember the last I saw him.

I got adopted by the same couple who spoiled me rotten, and took me to lots of dog shows. I won a few prizes, so i guess i must be quite cute, i'll let you be the judge.

Now my parents have seperated and I live with my mum, grandma, and brother Difa, whos a mongrel and alot older than me. My mum works as a dog walker, which means my life is quite an adventure. I get to work with her everyday and meet loads of new friends, and have amazing adventures. I sometimes visit my dad and his new girlfriend, so it's like i have two families, how lucky am I?

So, anyways i thought i would keep a diary of daily adventures and share them with you guys and maybe make some new friends while i'm here!
